The safe does not unlock with my fingerprint.

Problem

When you try to unlock Wyze Gun Safe using your fingerprint, it does not work.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure you’re not in a lockout period.
    • If there were already 5 failed attempts, the gun safe will be in a 5-minute lockout period. You can end this period by unlocking the gun safe via the Wyze app.
  2. Wipe the fingerprint sensor with a cloth to be sure it is clear of dust and debris.
    • 💡Tip:  If you have dry skin, try using a drop of lotion to ensure an accurate reading of your fingerprint.
  3. Ensure you are covering the entire fingerprint sensor with your finger.
  4. Delete and re-add your fingerprint.
    • To delete a fingerprint:
      1. In the Wyze app, select the Wyze Gun Safe > Settings > Fingerprints.
      2. Select the fingerprint you want to delete and tap Delete Fingerprint
    • To add a fingerprint:
      1. In the Wyze app, select the Wyze Gun Safe > Settings > Fingerprints > Add Fingerprints
      2. On Wyze Gun Safe, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor then lift it up and down, adjusting slightly each time to ensure a successful scan. You will need to do this 8 times for a complete scan.
      3. There will be an “Operation Failed, timed out” message if not completed within 40 seconds.
      4. Name your fingerprint. (We suggest specifying which finger is being used for the fingerprint in case you forget.)
  5. Power cycle Wyze Gun Safe by removing the batteries for 5 seconds and then reinserting the batteries.
  6. Factory reset Wyze Gun Safe.
    • To factory reset, open Wyze Gun Safe, press the pairing button for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep, and attempt setup again.
