Turn on the Motion Warning feature so that a voice alert plays and lets visitors know your home is protected by Wyze.
When enabled, your Wyze Cam or doorbell will either play a Wyze Tone, or:
"Hi, you are currently being recorded."
Motion Warning is available on these Wyze Cams and doorbells:
- Wyze Cam Floodlight v2
- Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
- Wyze Cam OG and Telephoto 3x
- Wyze Cam v4
- Wyze Video Doorbell v2
- Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell
To turn Motion Warning on and off:
- In the Wyze app, tap on your Wyze Cam or video doorbell.
- Tap on the Settings gear.
- Tap Detection Settings > Motion Warning.
- To turn on Motion Warning, tap Wyze Tone or You are being recorded.
- To turn off Motion Warning, tap None.
- Tap the back < arrow to save your settings.
The volume of the Motion Warning cannot be adjusted.

These steps to enable Motion Warning are the same on all compatible devices. However, the Repeat Sound interval shown on the Motion Warning page is only available for AI-based motion detection.
Additional Notes about Motion Warning
There are two types of Motion Warnings: AI-based and Pixel-based. If your camera has a paid license assigned to it (like Cam Plus), OR is a Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro, you have AI-based motion detection.
Pixel-based motion detection is our free version of Motion Warning, which relies on large groups of pixels changing between frames. Motion Warning is available as a U option on Wyze Cam OG, Wyze Cam Floodlight v2, Wyze Video Doorbell v2, Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell, and Wyze Cam v4.
For pixel-based Motion Warning on the devices listed above, when a motion is detected in the detection zone, the camera plays a selected warning audio message through its built-in speaker.
