Why did my camera go offline?
- Power interruption: A power outage, even a brief one, can cause your devices to lose connection. Even if power is restored, some devices might not reconnect automatically.
- Network interruption: An ISP outage, or a change with your router, can cause devices to lose connection.
Troubleshooting
If it's urgent, we recommend asking a trusted friend or family member to troubleshoot your device you from afar.
Unfortunately, there are no remote troubleshooting options available if your Wyze devices are offline. Power cycling your device or restarting your router require you to be present, and cannot be done remotely.
Why can't I get my camera back online?
- Your camera must be connected to Wi-Fi to communicate with the Wyze app.
- There is no way to communicate with an offline device.
- You cannot power cycle your camera* without manually unplugging your it from power, then plugging it back in.
- You cannot restart your router** without manually unplugging it from power, then plugging it back in.
*If your camera is connected to a smart plug that is still connected to Wi-Fi, try to turn power to the plug off and on. This may get your camera back online.
**Your ISP may be able to restart your router remotely, but your Wyze devices will not try to connect again without power cycling.
Why didn't my device reconnect on its own?
All Wi-Fi-connected Wyze devices will attempt to reconnect automatically. But after several failed attempts, like after an extended outage, it will stop trying and will require a power cycle.
Additional Notes
Having a Wyze device go offline while you're away is frustrating. If you need your devices back online quickly, the only way to do so is to have someone you trust check your Wi-Fi and power cycle your devices for you from afar.
Wyze Support cannot connect to or control your devices in any way.
