Notifications with Wyze Stories

Will I get fewer notifications with Wyze Stories?

Yes, and that's the point. You get one notification per story rather than one per clip, and that same notification updates itself as the activity continues. If a story is still unfolding and new clips are added, the notification refreshes with the latest information instead of alerting you again, so a long activity stays a single notification in your list rather than a stack of them.

With the default High Important Events setting, repetitive and unremarkable activity is filtered out of your notifications as well.

Will my notifications arrive as fast as before?

Wyze Stories needs a short amount of additional processing time to recognize that clips belong together and to write the summary. A grouped notification might arrive slightly later than a single-clip alert normally would.

Two things to know:

  • Urgent activity still comes through right away. If an event is judged to be important on its own, like a doorbell ring, it's sent immediately as its own notification rather than waiting to be grouped.

  • You stay in control. If you have a camera where timing matters most to you, you can leave it out of Wyze Stories in settings and it will keep sending standard Person, Pet, Package, and Vehicle notifications.

Do my existing notification settings still apply?

Yes, your per-camera notification settings stay. If notifications are off for a camera, they stay off.
