I’m unable to turn on Descriptive Alerts.

Problem

You are a Cam Unlimited Pro subscriber and are unable to turn on Descriptive Alerts.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is updated to version 3.3 or higher. 
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.  
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page. 
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app. 
  2.  If possible, check that your camera’s firmware is up to date. 
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it. 
  3. Verify that your Cam Unlimited Pro license is assigned to the correct camera. 
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Services
  4. Make sure the camera is set to record correctly. 
    1. Navigate to the camera’s settings > Event Recording > toggle on Record Motion Events
  5. Verify that your Wyze Cam is assigned to work with AI Video Search. 
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Wyze Intelligence
  6. Power cycle the camera. 
    1. If your camera is wired, unplug the camera from its power source for 5 seconds and then plug it back in. 
    2. If your camera is battery-powered, remove and reinsert the camera’s battery. 
  7. Reset your service attached to the camera. 
    1. In the Wyze app, navigate to your camera's settings. 
    2. Scroll down to Reset Services > tap Reset
    3. After resetting your service, you will need to set up monitoring for that camera again. 
    4. You can do this by going to the Account tab > Services
