I signed up for Cam Plus but the AI features aren't working.

Problem

Your camera is not recording smart AI detections even though you have Cam Plus.

Troubleshooting

  1. Check that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
  2. Confirm that your camera’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Verify that you have an active Cam Plus subscription.
    1. You can check this by logging into my.wyze.com or in the Wyze app by going to the Account tab > Services.
  4. Ensure that the camera is set to record correctly.
    1. Open the live stream of the camera and wait until the camera fully connects.
    2. Navigate to the settings > Event Recording.
      • For motion: Toggle motion detection off and then back on.
      • For sound: Toggle sound detection off and then back on.
        • Note: Sound detection is not available on all Wyze Cam models.
      • For smart detections: Once motion or sound is enabled, toggle the related AI detections off and then back on.
    3. Increase the motion and sound detection sensitivities.
      • Increased sensitivity improves the camera's chances of triggering recordings.
    4. Navigate back to the camera's live stream and wait at least 30 minutes for the camera to record events.
  5. Restart your camera.
    1. This can be done in the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
    2. Note: This option is not available for Wyze Cam Outdoor or Wyze Video Doorbells.
  6. Reset the service.
    1. Navigate to the camera's settings > Reset Services > Reset.
  7. Walk through setting up the camera like new.
    • Note: Do not delete the camera before walking through the setup process.
