My floodlight is not receiving events or notifications.


Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro is not recording Event videos or thumbnails when motion is detected.


  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo. 
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the floodlight, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
    1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
    2. For iOS, make sure that Precise Location is turned on. 
  4. Ensure the floodlight is set to record correctly.
    1. In the Wyze app, navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Event Recording
    2. Enable Record Motion Events.
    3. Enable All Motion Events
    4. Tap Smart Detection.
      1. Ensure Person and Vehicle are toggled on. 
      2. Note: if you don’t have Cam Plus enabled, there will automatically be a 5-minute cooldown period between thumbnails.
  5. Verify that the Detection Settings are set correctly.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Detection Settings.
    2. Under Motion Detection Sensitivity, adjust the slider bar to High.
    3. Tap Detection Zone and toggle it off while testing.
  6. Check that Notifications are set correctly.
    1. For the floodlight:
      1. Enable Notification.
      2. Enable Person and Vehicle.
      3. Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Notifications.
    2. For the Wyze app:
      1. Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app.
      2. Tap Account > Notifications > Push Notifications.
      3. Toggle on Push Notifications.
  7. Verify that there are no Rules set up that could be causing interference. 
    1. Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner > Edit Rules.
    2. Note: We recommend deleting any Rules and then adding them back one by one while testing.
  8. Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
    1. Switch the breaker to the off position. 
    2. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. Switch the breaker back to the on position.
  9. Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro. 
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
    2. With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the bottom of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing purple, set up the floodlight like new.
