Problem
Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro is frequently missing motion events or motion light triggers.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, please update it.
- Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the floodlight, please update.
- Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
- Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
- For iOS, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.

Ensure the floodlight is set to record correctly.
- In the Wyze app, navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Event Recording.

Enable Motion then select All Events.

Tap Customize Detections.

Next to Other Motion, ensure that boxes are checked for both the Tag and Notify columns.

For users that do not have a Wyze Services subscription enabled:

Once recordings for Other Motion are being generated, you can select the desired AI recordings by checking the other options in the Tag and Notify columns.

Only Person and Vehicle are available without a Wyze Services subscription.

Note: There will automatically be a 5-minute cooldown period between thumbnails for Other Motion.

For Wyze Services users:

Once recordings for Other Motion are being generated, you can select the desired AI recordings by checking the other options in the Tag and Notify columns.

Attempt to trigger the floodlight by creating the related movement in front of the device.
- Verify that the Detection Settings are set correctly.
- Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Detection Settings.
- Under Motion Detection Sensitivity, adjust the slider bar to a lower value.
- We recommend about 40 or lower.
- Tap Detection Zone and toggle it off while testing.
- Check that the Notifications are set correctly.
- For the floodlight:
- Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Notifications.
- Enable Notification.
- Enable Person and Vehicle.
- For the Wyze app:
- Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app.
- Tap Account > Notifications > Push Notifications.
- Toggle on Push Notifications.
- For the floodlight:
- Verify that the Floodlight Settings are set correctly.
- Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Floodlight Settings.
- Under Brightness Level, adjust the slider bar to High.
- Under Activate when camera detects, tap Motion.
- Confirm Motion is toggled on.
- Make sure the preferred motion type (All Motion or Smart Detections) is selected.
- Note: If Smart Detections is enabled, be sure Person and Vehicle are also selected.
- Tap Lights Off Timer and set it to 5 mins while testing then tap Save.
- Tap Schedule and verify it is set to your preferred timeframe.
- Set a different schedule to clear any stuck settings then set it back to your preferred timeframe.
- Test the floodlight during the set timeframe.
- Verify that there are no Automations set up that could be causing interference.

Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap Automations.

Note: We recommend deleting any Automations and then adding them back one by one while testing.

- Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
- Switch the breaker to the off position.
- Wait 5-10 seconds.
- Switch the breaker back to the on position.
- Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
- Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
- With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the bottom of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing purple, set up the floodlight like new.
