Even with Cam Plus, which gets you full-length recordings without gaps, there are a few reasons why you might only get a 12-second event recording.
1. The event was triggered by Sound.
If the recording was triggered by a sound event, like a dog barking or talking, it will only record for 12 seconds. All sound-based recordings only record for 12 seconds.

2. The device is battery-powered.
For battery-powered cameras, like Wyze Battery Cam Pro and Wyze Video Doorbell Pro, recordings are capped at 12 seconds to conserve battery life by default. You can update your Maximum Video Length and Recording Cooldown settings, but it will reduce overall battery performance.
Even if you update your recording settings, the recording will be limited to 12 seconds if the event was triggered by sound.
3. The device has Cam Plus Lite.
If Cam Plus Lite is attached to the camera, recordings will default to 12 seconds, no matter how it's triggered. Upgrading to Cam Plus unlocks unlimited video recording duration for all events not triggered by sound.
4. The recording was triggered by an Automation.
When you create an automation to "upload a short video to the cloud" after a trigger, that video will only be 12 seconds long.
For example: If you create a Shortcut to "Upload a short video to the cloud" on your Wyze Cam v4, you'll get a 12-second video when you tap to activate the shortcut.
