Problem
When I adjust the direction of my Wyze Cam Pan v4 through the Wyze app, it moves back to its original position after a few seconds.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that your Wyze Cam Pan v4’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
- Turn off Smart Track.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Smart Track.
- Tap to turn it on/off.
- The icon will be grey when turned off.
- Turn off Pan Scan.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Scan.
- Tap to turn it on/off.
- The icon will be grey when turned off.
- Disable any Detection Zone.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Detection Settings > Detection Zone.
- Toggle off Detection Zone.
- Note: If the camera’s view is adjusted while a Detection Zone is enabled, the camera will automatically return to its original position after 15 seconds of being idle.
- Adjust the Waypoints.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Control.
- If Pan Control was already selected, that button will change to Events, and there will be a directional pad on the screen to adjust the camera’s position.
- Tap the pencil icon to edit existing Waypoints.
- Remove any existing Waypoints, and add them back one at a time, testing between each one.
- Note: The Home Waypoint cannot be deleted, but can be updated to change its position.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Control.
- Calibrate the camera.
In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Controls.
Next to Calibrate Position, tap Calibrate.
Wait for the calibration to complete before exiting that screen.
Note: Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s ability to move, including the power cable.
- Check if there are any shared users adjusting the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Sharing.
- Temporarily remove shared users, if needed.
- Power cycle Wyze Cam Pan v4.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10-20 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
