Problem
When you try to update the firmware for your Wyze Cam Pan v4, it fails.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- Ensure that Wyze Cam Pan v4 has a good signal strength.
- You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the camera’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has less than 2 bars, try moving the router and camera closer together.
- Force-close the app and wait 10 minutes before checking if the update was successful.
- If there is a microSD card inserted into the camera, remove it and attempt the firmware update again.
- Move the camera and device with the Wyze app closer to the router during the update.
- Reboot the Wi-Fi router and then attempt the update again.
- Power cycle Wyze Cam Pan v4.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10-20 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
