Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that your Wyze Cam Pan v4’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
- Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s lens.
- Remove any plastic film or cover from the lens.
- Gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
- If there is a third-party cover on the device, please remove it.
- If the camera is used behind a window, check that the window is also clean and transparent.
- Verify that there are no additional light sources next to or pointing toward the camera lens that may cause interference.
- If the camera is in the direct path of the sun, it is possible that a lens flare appears in the image. We recommend adjusting the position of the camera angle, but this is an expected phenomenon in standard cameras.
- If the camera is not facing the sun directly, make sure the camera’s spotlight isn’t reflecting off nearby surfaces.
- We recommend adjusting the height/angle of the camera, so the reflection is minimized.
- Optional: At your own discretion, you can use anti-reflective tape on surfaces that would reflect the spotlight back at the camera.
- Adjust the camera resolution.
- From the camera’s live stream, tap the resolution icon to toggle between the modes.
- Note: We recommend setting it to 4K resolution.
- Cycle through Night Vision Mode.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
- Cycle through Auto, On, and Off.
- Note: We recommend setting it to Auto.
- Restart the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
- Power cycle Wyze Cam Pan v4.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10-20 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
