Problem
The Pan Scan feature only rotates once and stops; Pan Scan is turned on, but the camera doesn’t move.
Troubleshooting
-
Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
-
If possible, check that your Wyze Duo Cam Pan’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
-
Confirm that at least two Waypoints are set up.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find and select Waypoints.
- Ensure there are at least two Waypoints set up, and that one of them is set as the Home Waypoint (it will have a house icon).
- If there are already Waypoints, remove them and add them back one by one.
- Note: Pan Scan requires at least two Waypoints to function.
-
Adjust the Pan Cam Controls.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Cam Controls.
- Tap Pan Scan.
-
Adjust the repetition of the scan.
- Tap Repeat.
- Set it to Indefinitely while testing.
- Once Pan Scan is determined to be functioning, select Every, then slowly increase the Repeat time until the desired level of panning is reached.
- Disable any Schedule that may be causing interference.
-
Toggle Pan Scan off/on.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Scan.
-
Tap to turn it off/on.
- It will be green when enabled.
-
Calibrate the camera.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Cam Controls.
- Next to Calibrate, tap Start.
- Wait for the calibration to complete before exiting that screen.
-
Power cycle Wyze Duo Cam Pan.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
-
Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
Note: By default, the Repeat time under Pan Scan settings is set to 120 seconds, which means that the camera will perform one full cycle and then wait 120 seconds before starting again. If the camera is moved manually in the app during that waiting period, it will interrupt the cycle and restart the timer.
