No, we do not recommend it.
Storm doors are not recommended with Wyze Palm Lock because they can cause the lock to wake excessively due to motion. Even minor motion, like wind blowing, can shift the door and wake up your Wyze Palm Lock - even hundreds of times per day.
This motion will drain the battery rapidly.
If your Wyze Palm Lock is already installed behind a storm door, we highly recommend enabling Extreme Battery Saving Mode. This will keep your palm lock's screen asleep until you tap to wake it, greatly preserving battery life.
To enable Extreme Battery Saving Mode:
- In the Wyze app, tap your Wyze Palm Lock.
- Tap Settings, then Battery Management.
- Select Extreme Battery Saving Mode.
