Note: You'll need to be on Wyze app version 3.14 or above in order to set up or reconnect your Wyze Solar Cam Pan.
Problem
When you use the Track Person feature on your Wyze Solar Cam Pan, the camera is not tracking people at all, or it is inconsistent.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that your Wyze Solar Cam Pan’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
- Calibrate the camera.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Controls.
- Next to Calibrate Position, tap Calibrate.
- Wait for the calibration to complete before exiting that screen.
- Note: Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s ability to move, including the solar panel or its power cable.
- Ensure Track Person is turned on.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Track Person.
- Tap to turn it off/on.
- The icon will be green when turned on.
- Adjust the Detection Settings.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Detection Settings.
- Tap Detection Zone and toggle it off while testing.
- Under Detection Range, adjust the slider to Far.
- Under Motion Sensitivity, adjust the slider to High.
- Check if there are any shared users adjusting the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Sharing.
- Temporarily remove shared users, if needed.
- Restart the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
- Factory reset Wyze Solar Cam Pan.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- Press and hold the setup button for 20-30 seconds.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
