How does Sound Detection work with Cam Plus?

What is Sound Detection?

The Wyze AI team has been going beyond computer vision technology and is actively developing Sound Detection technology for Wyze Cams. This means that your Wyze Cam will not only understand what it sees but also what it hears.

With Wyze AI and a Cam Plus or Cam Protect subscription, this feature can tell the difference between crying, meowing, barking, talking, and more.

How do I get Sound Detection?

First, make sure you have a Cam Plus or Cam Protect subscription enabled on your Wyze Cam. Then, go to your cameras Settings > Event Recording. Toggle on Record Motion Events, then tap Smart Detections. Tap the toggles next to the audio detections you'd like to detect.

How do I make sure sound is recorded?

By default, Motion Events do not record sound, even if a Sound Event triggers the recording. On the same screen as above, under Record Motion Events tap Record Sound Events

👉 Heads up! Only the first 12 seconds of audio will be recorded per event, even if you have Cam Plus and the recording is longer than 12 seconds.

What sounds are supported?

Crying, Meowing, Barking, Talking, Gun Shooting, and Glass Breaking.
