Problem
The camera is not tracking motion, is not tracking enough motion, or is choppy.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that Wyze Indoor Cam Pan’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
- Ensure Smart Track is turned on.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Smart Track.
- Tap to turn it off/on.
- The icon will be green when turned on.
- Turn off Pan Scan.
- Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Scan.
- Tap to turn it on/off.
- The icon will be grey when turned off.
- Disable any Detection Zone.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Detection Settings > Detection Zone.
- Toggle off Detection Zone.
- Note: If the camera’s view is adjusted while a Detection Zone is enabled, the camera will automatically return to its original position after 15 seconds of being idle.
- Adjust the camera’s sensitivity.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Detection Settings.
- Under Motion Sensitivity, adjust the slider bar to Low.
- Increase the sensitivity slowly, and test until the desired level of motion detection is reached.
- Adjust the Pan Controls settings.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Controls.
- Under Smart Track, select All Motion.
- Once tracking for all motion is functioning as expected, you can switch to the AI options.
- For the AI options, use the Reorder button to change the order, with the option you want to prioritize at the top of the list.
- Once tracking for all motion is functioning as expected, you can switch to the AI options.
- Under Pan Scan, disable Schedule.
- Under Manual Pan-Tilt Speed, adjust the slider bar to Slow, then slowly increase the speed, and test until the desired speed is reached.
- Calibrate the camera.
- In the camera’s settings, tap Pan Controls.
- Next to Calibrate Position, tap Calibrate.
- Wait for the calibration to complete before exiting that screen.
- Note: Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s ability to move, including the power cable.
- Check if there are any shared users adjusting the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Sharing.
- Temporarily remove shared users if needed.
- Power cycle Wyze Indoor Cam Pan.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, manually adjust the camera lens so that it is pointing up.
- Below the camera lens, press and hold the setup button for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
