Problem
Your Wyze Indoor Cam Pan displays a distorted, blurred, or tinted image in the live stream or in recorded events.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that Wyze Indoor Cam Pan’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
- Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s lens.
- Remove any plastic film or cover from the lens.
- Gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
- If there is a third-party cover on the device, please remove it.
- If the camera is used behind a window, check that the window is also clean and transparent.
- Verify that there are no additional light sources next to or pointing toward the camera lens that may cause interference.
- If the camera is in the direct path of the sun, it is possible that a lens flare appears in the image. Adjust the position of the camera angle to remove the flare, but this is an expected phenomenon in standard cameras.
- Adjust the camera resolution.
- From the camera’s live stream, tap the resolution icon to toggle between the modes.
- Note: We recommend setting it to 2K resolution.
- Cycle through Night Vision Mode.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
- Cycle through Auto, On, and Off.
- Note: We recommend setting it to Auto.
- Restart the camera.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
- Power cycle Wyze Indoor Cam Pan.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, manually adjust the camera lens so that it is pointing up.
- Below the camera lens, press and hold the setup button for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
