I am not receiving a security alert after an event.

Problem

The security alert is not being triggered in the event of an emergency.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure the Cam Protect subscription is active and assigned to a camera.
    • In the Wyze app, go to Account > Services > Cam Protect. Make sure your camera is shown.
  2. Check that the firmware is up to date on your camera.
  3. Make sure the Event recording settings are set correctly.
    • In the Wyze app, tap on your camera to open the livestream. Then tap Settings > Event Recording. Make sure Motion Detection and Person Detection are turned on.
  4. Make sure you're not in Test Mode.
    • You can find this on the Monitoring tab. 
  5. Confirm that the system is in an armed state.
    • You can find this on the Monitoring tab.
  6. Check that you have Critical Alerts and Push Notifications enabled on your device.
    • Find this on the Monitoring tab under Cam Protect Settings.

Note: An alarm will only be triggered if a person is detected by the camera while in an armed state.
