Wyze Lock Bolt Setup Guide

To set up your Wyze Lock Bolt:

  1. Make sure you are connected to data or Wi-Fi (this is only for the initial pairing with the Wyze app).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
    • If you’re on an iOS device, check that your Location Permissions are also enabled.
    • If you’re on a device using Android 12+, check that your Nearby permissions are also enabled.
    • Make sure that you are in BluetoothⓇ range for connection (16 feet or less).
  3. In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
  4. On the Add menu, tap Device > Home > Wyze Lock Bolt.
  5. If you’ve already installed your Wyze Lock Bolt on your door, tap Skip Installation Guide. If not, tap Begin Installation.
  6. Press and hold the pairing button under the batteries (the round dent with “P” on it). Once you release the pairing button, you should hear 3 beeps and the keypad should flash white.
  7. Wait for the Wyze app to search for and connect to your Wyze Lock Bolt.
  8. Name your Wyze Lock Bolt. Then you’re all set!
  9. The app will then prompt you to create a 4-8 digit code to enter on the keypad when unlocking the door. This code is saved to the Wyze Lock Bolt and will not be visible in the Wyze app after setup. You can reset the code in the Wyze app if you forget your code.
    • To unlock the door after setup, you will need to enter the code then press the button with the unlock icon.
  10. If you wish to set up a fingerprint to use to unlock the Wyze Lock Bolt, you’ll want to press I Consent on the Permission Request pop-up. If you do not want this feature, you can select Maybe later.
  11. On the Fingerprint Setup page of the setup, select Next
    • You can also select Show Me How for more instructions.
  12. After two beeps, place your finger on the fingerprint scanner then lift your finger off the fingerprint scanner.
    • If there is no beep, check that the Wyze Lock Bolt has new batteries and that they are installed correctly.
  13. Rotate your finger slightly, then place your finger on the fingerprint scanner again. Repeat this process until the scanning process is complete (8/8 scans).
    • The fingerprint scan process will time out after 40 seconds. You’ll want to complete all 8 scans within these 40 seconds.
  14. Press Done.
