My Wyze Cam v3 Pro's built-in spotlight is not turning on automatically.

Problem

Your Wyze Cam v3 Pro's built-in spotlight does not automatically turn on.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In the Wyze app, tap on the Account tab > About.
    2. The app version will be listed under the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the most up-to-date version on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If your Wyze app version is not updated to the latest version, please go to your device’s app store, search for the Wyze app, and proceed with updating the app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam v3 Pro's firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Ensure the camera is in a dark enough area for the spotlight to trigger.
    • If the camera is placed in an area where the IR lights could trick the camera into thinking it's daytime, the spotlight will not trigger.
  4. Turn the spotlight Off and then back to Auto.
    • This can be found in the camera’s settings > Spotlight Settings > Spotlight Control.
  5. Power cycle the camera by unplugging it from its power source for 5 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  6. Check that there are no Automations or Schedules set up that would interfere with the spotlight.
    1. Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap Automations.
    2. Note: We recommend deleting any Automations and then adding them back one by one while testing.
  7. Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted in the camera.
    2. With the camera plugged into power, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
  8. Once the camera is set back up, enable the spotlight under Spotlight Settings.
