Wyze Home Monitoring Setup Guide

Setting up Wyze Home Monitoring is easy and doesn't require any extra tools or professionals. As long as you have the Wyze app and your Wyze Sense Hub and Wyze Sense Sensors  you're ready to go.

1. Set up Wyze Home Monitoring

  1. In the Wyze app, tap Monitoring.
  2. Tap Start Setup.
  3. Tap Sense Hub Installation.
Important! Please follow along with the instructions in the app and in this guide carefully. Do not mount any of these devices until setup is complete.

2. Set up your Wyze Sense Hub

You'll set up your Wyze Sense Hub in the following steps. If you haven't already, unpack your Wyze Sense Hub box. Remove the hub, power cable, and Ethernet cable before continuing.

    1. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
      1. Plug your Wyze Sense Hub into power.
        • Attach the micro USB end of the power cable to your Hub and the other end to the power adapter. Plug the Power adapter into a standard power outlet.
      2. Connect your Wyze Sense Hub to your router.
        • Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into your Hub and the other end into your router.
    2. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
      • Raise the two antennas on the Wyze Sense Hub.
    3. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
      1. On the back of your hub, single-press the reset button.

      2. Your Wyze Sense Hub will say "Ready to connect" and the status lights will flash.
    4. Tap the checkbox next to I heard "ready to connect" in the Wyze app. 
      1. The app will attempt to pair and connect to your Hub.
      2. Your Wyze Sense Hub will say "Connection successful" if the connection is complete.
    5. Tap Next in the Wyze app.

3. Set up your keypad and sensors

You'll set up your Wyze Sense devices in the following steps. If you haven't already, unpack your boxes for Wyze Sense Keypad, Wyze Entry Sensor v2, and Wyze Motion Sensor v2.

3.1 Wyze Sense Keypad

  1. Tap Wyze Sense Keypad in the Wyze app.
    1. Turn the keypad around so the back is facing you.
    2. Slide the mounting plate downwards and off.
    3. Pull to remove the plastic battery tab.
  2. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
    1. On the back of your Wyze Keypad, press and hold the reset button until the Home button starts flashing white.

    2. The Hub and keypad will say “pairing successful” once complete.
  3. Name your Wyze Keypad in the Wyze app.
    • Add your own unique name for it or select from one of the options.
  4. Tap Finish.

3.2 Wyze Entry Sensor v2

  1. Tap Wyze Entry Sensor v2 in the Wyze app.
  2. Pull to remove the plastic battery tab from the sensor.
  3. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
    1. On the side of your Wyze Entry Sensor, press and hold the reset button until the status light flashes red.

    2. The Hub will say “Pairing successful” once complete.
  4. Name your entry sensor in the Wyze app.
  5. Tap Finish.

3.3 Wyze Motion Sensor v2

  1. Tap Wyze Motion Sensor v2 in the Wyze app.
  2. Pull to remove the plastic battery tab from the sensor.
  3. Tap Next in the Wyze app.
    1. On the side of your Wyze Motion Sensor, press and hold the reset button until the status light flashes red.

    2. The Hub will say “Pairing successful” once complete.
  4. Name your motion sensor in the Wyze app.
  5. Tap Finish.

3.4 Additional devices

If you want to set up additional sensors follow the steps above for that device. 

Tap Finish one last time when you've set up all the sensors you want to add to your Wyze Sense Hub.

You may already have multiple Wyze Cams on your Wyze account. You'll be prompted to add more Wyze Cams in case you have a new camera that you purchased for your home monitoring system.

  1. Do you want to add more Wyze Cams to your Wyze account?
    1. If no, tap I have no cams to add. Continue to the next step.
    2. If yes, tap Set up new Wyze Cams.

4. Add your Contact Information

You'll add your contact info for Emergency Dispatching in the following steps. The details in this section are used by Noonlight to send emergency services to your home in the event of an active alarm. You must have a US or Canadian address to continue.

  1. Tap Home Setup in the Wyze app.
  2. Tap Next.
  3. Tap Begin
  4. Enter your street address. 
  5. Tap Save.
  6. Double-check your address, then tap Confirm.
    • If there’s an error, tap Cancel and re-enter your address.
  7. Name your home.
    1. Add your own unique name for your home or select from one of the options.
    2. Tap Finish.
  8. Enter your First and Last name.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Enter your phone number.
  11. Tap Next.
    1. A confirmation code will be texted to the number you entered.
    2. Enter this code in the box.
    3. You’ll be brought to the Home Monitoring Setup screen if the code is correct.
    4. If the code is not correct, request a new code and try again.

5. Set up your Alarm triggers

You'll set up your alarm triggers in the following steps. This is what lets your system know that there might be an emergency if you don't cancel the alarm with your PIN.

  1. Tap Alarm Triggers.
  2. Tap Next, swiping to review the details about Home, Away, and Disarmed Modes. 
  3. Tap the checkbox next to the sensors you want to use for Home mode. 
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Tap the checkbox next to the sensors you want to use for Away mode.
  6. Tap Next.

6. Set up your PIN

You'll set up your PIN in the following steps. This is the 4-digit number you use to disarm your system or cancel an Emergency Response when you don't need help.

    1. Tap Next.
    2. Enter your preferred PIN.
      • Save this PIN! It is required to disarm your system or cancel an Emergency Response.
    3. Tap Next.
    4. Do you want to enter a PIN when switching between the Home, Away, and Disarmed modes?
      1. If yes, tap Require PIN.
      2. If no, tap Do not require a PIN.
      3. Tap Next.
    5. Tap Next.

7. Set up your Entry/Exit Delay

You'll set up your Entry and Exit Delay for Home and Away modes in these steps. This delay is how much time you'll have to disarm your system before an alarm is sent to Noonlight.

  • Home mode: You're currently at home. The system is monitoring the exterior of your home.
  • Away mode: You're away from home. The system is monitoring the interior and exterior of your home.

7.1 Entry/Exit Delay for Home mode

  1. Tap Next.
  2. Tap Entry Delay. By default, this is 30 seconds.
    1. Scroll and tap your preferred entry delay.
      Note: If you select 0 seconds, you will have no time to disarm the system before an alarm is sent to Noonlight.
    2. Tap Save.
  3. Tap Exit Delay. By default, this is 60 seconds.
    1. Scroll and tap your preferred exit delay.
    2. Tap Save.
  4. Tap Next.

7.2 Entry/Exit Delay for Away mode

  1. Tap Next.
  2. Tap Entry Delay. By default, this is 30 seconds.
    1. Scroll and tap your preferred entry delay. Tap Save.
  3. Tap Exit Delay. By default, this is 60 seconds.
    1. Scroll and tap your preferred exit delay.
    2. Tap Save.
  4. Tap Next.

8. Set up your security cameras

You'll set up your security cameras in the steps below. These are the Wyze Cams you choose to monitor your home.

  1. Tap Next.
  2. Tap the check boxes next to each camera you want to use as security cameras.
    • You can select up to 5.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Tap Next.

9. Set up your Safe Word

You'll set up your Safe Word in the steps below. This is the secret word you'd use to verify your safety with Noonlight in the event of an alarm.

  1. Tap Next.
  2. Enter your preferred Safe Word.
    • Make sure it’s easy to remember and say in the event of an emergency.
    • The character limit is 10.
  3. Tap Next.

10. Set your notification preferences

  1. Tap Allow Notifications if you’d like to receive notifications from the Wyze app.
    • If you don’t want notifications, tap X.
    • Note: If you do not allow notifications, we will not be able to keep you informed about the security system on your phone.
  2. Tap Allow Critical Alerts (on iOS only) if you’d like to receive a push notifications to your phone even if your phone is muted, or in Do Not Disturb Mode.
    • If prompted by your iPhone, tap Allow.

11. Finishing up

  1. Review the Legal Terms related to Noonlight and Wyze. You must tap Accept to use Wyze Home Monitoring and allow Noonlight to contact you and Emergency Dispatching in the event of an alarm.
  2. Tap Accept.
  3. Do you want to test your system? This lets you test that everything’s working properly without triggering an Emergency Response (resulting in a call from Noonlight).
    1. If no, tap Skip.
    2. If yes, tap Enter Test Mode.
      1. Use Test Mode to test your system, including your sensors, cameras, and the keypad. If you trigger an alarm, no law enforcement dispatching will come.
      2. When done, tap Exit Test Mode.
        Note: you can keep your monitoring system in Test Mode for as long as you’d like. But your system is Disarmed. It will not alert you or send an alarm even if there’s an emergency.

12. You're all done - setup is complete!

Give yourself a pat on the back! It's been a long journey, but your Wyze Home Monitoring system is set and all ready protecting your home.

The final To Do is to place your sensors, keypad, and decals around your home.
