Problem
Your Wyze Lamp Socket v2 is showing offline in the Wyze app, loads slowly, or disconnects frequently.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, confirm that the firmware for Wyze Lamp Socket v2 and the attached Wyze Cam are both up to date.
- For the camera, you can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- For the lamp socket, you can check this by going to the lamp socket’s settings > Device Info.
- If there is an update available for either device, please move forward with updating them.
- Check the status light on the lamp socket.
- If there is no status light, refer to My Wyze Lamp Socket v2 is not turning on.
- If it is flashing blue, the device is updating its firmware. Wait 5-10 minutes for the update to complete.
- Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.
- Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
- For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
- Confirm that the attached camera is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and that the network is functioning normally.
- Wyze Lamp Socket v2 is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Check if Wyze Lamp Socket v2 is in a socket with a dimmer switch.
- If it is in a socket with a dimmer switch, we recommend moving the device to a different socket, as dimmer switches are not recommended.
- Note: Wyze Lamp Socket v2 does not have the ability to adjust bulb brightness.
- If it is in a dimmer switch and cannot be moved to a different socket, ensure the dimmer switch is turned up to its highest setting.
- If it is in a socket with a dimmer switch, we recommend moving the device to a different socket, as dimmer switches are not recommended.
- Verify that the lamp socket is installed securely in the socket.
- Note: It should not be too tight or too loose.
- Ensure that Wyze Lamp Socket v2 has a good signal strength.
- You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the attached camera’s settings > Accessories > Wyze Lamp Socket v2 > Connected Lamp Sockets > select the impacted lamp socket > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has less than 3 bars, try moving the lamp socket closer to the router.
- Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
- Power cycle Wyze Lamp Socket v2.
- Manually turn off the socket via the light switch for 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Note: This will power cycle both Wyze Lamp Socket v2 and any attached Wyze Cam.
- Factory reset Wyze Lamp Socket v2.
- Turn the light switch associated with the lamp socket off and on quickly 3 times.
- Wait for the status to start flashing red, then set up Wyze Lamp Socket v2 as new.
