My Wyze Lock Bolt v2 fails to calibrate.

Problem

Your Wyze Lock Bolt v2 is having trouble calibrating, or you’ve received a calibration failed error.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.

    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.

    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.

    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.

    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.

  2. Check that the door is compatible and is the proper thickness by referring to What kind of doors are compatible with Wyze Lock Bolt v2?

    • Note: The proper door thickness is 1 3/8 - 2 1/8 in (35 - 55 mm).

  1. Make sure that the positioning plug was used properly when installing the lock by following the steps in Wyze Lock Bolt v2 Installation Guide.

    • The positioning plug helps ensure that the tailpiece is properly centered while tightening the screws so that there are no objects blocking the lock from locking/unlocking during calibration and normal use. It should be removed before mounting the interior assembly.

  1. Ensure that the steps listed in Wyze Lock Bolt v2 Calibration Guide are followed completely, as directed by the voice prompts.

    • During calibration, Wyze Lock Bolt v2 will automatically detect the position needed to properly lock/unlock.

  1. Verify that there is nothing blocking the deadbolt.

    1. Remove any debris from the dust box.

    2. Manually adjust Wyze Lock Bolt v2’s thumb latch to check if there is any resistance or jamming. If there is resistance or jamming:

      1. Verify that the deadbolt is not hitting the cross bore.

      2. Check that the dust box is fully inserted into the door jam and that the deadbolt can be fully inserted into the dust box.

      3. Remove the lock’s internal assembly and check that the metal tailpiece (the middle pillar from the external assembly) is in the center of the bore hole.

      4. Ensure the two long screws are not blocking any part of the hole where the tailpiece is inserted.

  1. If using the shorter screws, the door is likely a thinner door that is not a standard US door. If this is the case:

    • Do not push too hard when installing the three small interior panel screws on the interior assembly. This should ensure the interior assembly is not too tightly attached to the mounting plate in a way that may interfere with the lock.

    • Note: This will not affect the security of the lock since the mounting plate and exterior assembly are securely installed.

  1. If the physical lock and deadbolt are working as expected, but the app continues to state that the calibration failed:

    1. Power cycle Wyze Lock Bolt v2.

      1. Remove all 8 batteries completely for 10 seconds, then place them back into the lock, ensuring they are positioned properly and firmly.

    2. Factory reset Wyze Lock Bolt v2.

      1. Remove the cover on the interior assembly by pressing in and up on the top portion of the interior assembly.

      2. Press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds until the status light begins pulsing red.

      3. Once the status light starts pulsing red, set up the lock as new.
