My camera is offline in the Wyze app

Problem

Your Wyze Cam is showing "Device Offline" in the app. You are unable to load the livestream or any camera settings.

👋 Is your camera showing offline but the Live stream still works? Check out My Wyze Cam is showing offline but the Live stream works.

Note: Although similar, not all Wyze Cams are the same. Search for your individual camera for troubleshooting steps specific to your device.

Troubleshooting

  1. Check the status light.
    • If your camera has power, and you haven't disabled this feature, the light should be on.
    • Your status light will tell you the state of your camera, including its connection status.

  2. Check the power connection.
    • You may have unplugged it, or turned off power to the outlet.
    • If your camera is not plugged into power, it will be offline in the app.
  3. Check other connected devices.
    • This helps to isolate the issue. If multiple devices are offline, including non-Wyze devices, it is likely a network issue.
  4. Reboot your router.
    • This will re-establish a connection to all of your connected devices.
  5. Power cycle the camera.
    • The simplest fix, will reboot and hopefully reconnect this specific camera.
  6. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. An outdated Wyze app can result in connectivity and security issues. Always stay up to date.

  7. Confirm camera firmware is up to date.
    • Outdated camera firmware can result in connectivity and security issues, too.
    • A Wyze Cam with really outdated firmware may not be able to connect at all unless the firmware is manually flashed.
  8. Factory reset your device.
    • The ultimate last resort. Be sure to remove your microSD card first, then reset your device to the original factory settings.

Advanced Troubleshooting

1. What does your status light say?

During Installation and Setup for most newer Wyze Cams

  • Solid red light - The camera is powered and starting up.
  • Flashing red light - Ready to connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Flashing red and blue lights - Connection is in progress.
  • Flashing blue light - The camera is connected and finishing setup.
  • Solid blue light - Camera is powered, connected, and working properly.

After Setup is Complete

  • Solid red light - Live stream is being viewed or a recording is in progress.
  • Quickly flashing red light - Siren is in use.
  • Solid blue light - The camera is working properly.

2. Camera offline + Live stream loads = NOT offline

If your Wyze Cam shows as offline in the Wyze app, but you can load the Live stream, then it is not offline. Try power-cycling your camera and checking for firmware updates.

If your Wyze Cam shows as offline in the Wyze app, and you cannot load the Live stream or access your camera settings, then it is offline. Follow the troubleshooting tips in this article to get connected.

3. Confirm you're on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band.

Most Wyze Cams only support 2.4 GHz networks, and will not connect to 5 GHz networks. If you recently updated your Wi-Fi router, ensure that your devices are connected to the correct band.

If you're on a dual-band or multi-band router, you may have to split the bands to connect to the 2.4 GHz network.
