More Wyze Cam Pan v2 Troubleshooting

My Event videos have no sound.

Problem: 

Your Event Videos and recordings are silent and have no sound / audio.

Troubleshooting

Make sure that Record Sound is turned on in your camera's settings.

  1. In the Wyze app, tap on your camera and let the live stream load.
  2. Tap on the Settings icon SettingsGear__1_.png , then tap Advanced Settings.
  3. If the Record sound option is toggled onToggleOn__1_.png , tap to toggle off ToggleOff.png then back on ToggleOn__1_.png.
  4. If the Record sound option is toggled off ToggleOff.png, toggle the switch onToggleOn__1_.png.
  5. If there is still no sound on the recordings, factory reset the camera and set up the camera again.

Alexa cannot discover or connect to my Wyze Cam Pan.

Here are some steps to try if your Amazon device is having trouble discovering the camera:

  • Ensure that your camera is a Wyze Cam v3 or v2, or a Pan v1 or v2. The original Wyze Cam v1 is not compatible with Amazon Alexa. 
  • Ensure that the Amazon device is compatible with the camera. It must be an: Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire Tablets and Fire TV. It’s compatible with all generations of Fire TV, all Fire TV Edition Smart TVs and Fire Tablets Gen 7 and above.
  • Ensure that your camera is updated to the latest firmware version.
  • Ensure your Alexa devices’ firmware is also up to
  • Ensure that you authorized the correct Wyze account to your Amazon Alexa account.
  • Disable and re-enable the Wyze skill.
  • Ensure that the camera is connected to WiFi by checking if you can load a live stream view of the camera in your Wyze app. If you are unable to view a live stream view of the camera in your Wyze app, see Connectivity troubleshooting here.

My Wyze Cam Pan's microSD port is bad.

Problem:

You suspect you have a bad microSD port; the camera doesn't detect the microSD card, or doesn't back up correctly.

Troubleshooting Tip:

If you suspect you have a bad microSD port, check the contents of the microSD card on a computer to make sure that the card itself isn’t corrupted. If it is, try reformatting the microSD card and testing it in your camera again.

How to Format your microSD card 

There's static noise when viewing to the live stream.

Problem:

There is a static, crackling noise when viewing / listening to the live stream.

Troubleshooting Tips: 

  1. Check that your Wyze app and firmware are up to date.
  2. Power cycle the camera by unplugging it from power, then plugging it back in.
  3. Try to factory reset your camera.
  4. Try to flash the firmware to an earlier version if you have a 32 GB microSD card available.

In most cases, home users will not need to manually change ports. If you are on a business/enterprise network your IT department can manually open the ports needed.
