Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro Setup Troubleshooting

Problem

Your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro does not turn on, is not accessible in the Wyze app, or can’t be controlled.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Power off the floodlight by switching the breaker to the off position.
  3. Check all wiring to make sure it is secure.
  4. Make sure that Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro was installed properly by following the steps in our Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro Installation Guide.
    • If you’re ever unsure when dealing with wiring, we recommend reaching out to a licensed electrician at your discretion.
  5. Power on the floodlight by switching the breaker back to the on position.
  6. Confirm whether the status light is on after powering up the floodlight.
  7. Check that BluetoothⓇ is enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
    1. Toggle BluetoothⓇ off and on.
  8. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
    1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
    2. For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
  9. Ensure your phone/tablet is connected to the same 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network that you’re entering at the Select your network step and that you’re entering the SSID (Wi-Fi name) correctly.
    1. The SSID is case-sensitive and there should be no space before or after the SSID.
    2. The SSID should automatically populate if you’re connected to Wi-Fi. If it does not auto-populate, it can indicate the phone/tablet that is being used for setup is not connected to Wi-Fi.
  10. Check that you’re entering the Wi-Fi password correctly.
    1. Tap on the eye icon to view the password you are entering.
  11. If the setup process is stuck at the “Finishing Setup” screen and the status light is solid blue:
    1. Press the X icon in the upper right-hand corner to exit the setup process.
    2. Go to the Home tab of the Wyze app and drag down on the device list to refresh it.
    3. Your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro should have been successfully added. If not, proceed to the next step.
  12. Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
    1. Switch the breaker to the off position.
    2. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. Switch the breaker back to the on position.
  13. Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
    2. With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the bottom of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing purple, set up the floodlight like new.
