Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro Installation Guide

Installing your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro is as simple as replacing your existing floodlight by connecting it to a junction box. As long as you have a junction box and neutral wiring, and self-installation is legal in your area, this process should take about 30 minutes.

Before you begin installation:

  • Check your local laws and building codes before performing any electrical work. You may live in an area that requires a permit and professional installation.
  • You must have an existing junction box and a neutral wire to use Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
  • At the electrical panel, shut off power to your junction box before proceeding.

What’s in the box?

  • 1x Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
  • 1x Mounting Accessory Kit
    • 6x Bracket Screws
      • 2x #6 (3/4 in.)
      • 2x #8 (3/4 in.)
      • 2x #10 (1/2 in.)
    • 1x Ground Wire Screw
    • 1x Floodlight Screw (Long)
    • 1x Rubber Stopper
    • 1x Mounting Bracket
    • 2x Wire Nuts
    • 1x Hook
    • 1x Screwdriver
  • 1x Quick Start Guide

Depending on the location of your junction box, a ladder may be required.

  2. Read the High Voltage warning before tapping Got It!
  3. Are you replacing an existing floodlight?
    • If yes, tap I'm replacing an existing floodlight.
      • At your electrical panel, turn off the power to your floodlight’s junction box from the breaker box. Tap Next.
      • Carefully remove your existing floodlight. Tap Next.
    • If not, tap I don't have a floodlight to replace.
      • Do you have an existing junction box?
        • If yes, tap Next.
        • If not, your wiring is not compatible with Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro. Stop the installation process and contact a licensed electrician for assistance.
          • We recommend installing your floodlight at least 10 feet off the ground. Tap Next.
  4. Ensure your mobile device is connected to Wi-Fi then tap Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength in the Wyze app.
    • If your signal is Out of Range, Poor Connection, or Weak Connection, contact your Internet service provider for options.
    • Tap Continue Setup.
  5. Tap Start Installation.
  6. Verify that you have all the necessary parts and tap Next.
    • Already installed your floodlight? Tap Skip to Setup.
  7. Remove the floodlight from the box and tap Next.
  8. Place the mounting bracket on the junction box. Align the screw holes and tighten the bracket using the matching bracket screws and included screwdriver. Tap Next.
  9. Use the green ground wire screw to attach the ground wire to the middle of the mounting bracket.
    • The ground wire is usually a green or exposed copper wire.
    • If you are ever unsure when dealing with wiring, we recommend reaching out to a licensed electrician.
  10. Hang the floodlight on the mounting bracket using the provided mounting hook so that your hands are free to adjust more wiring.
  11. Connect the neutral wire (white) from your floodlight to the neutral wire from your junction box. Hold the ends of the wires together, cap using the wire nuts, and twist the wire nut 5-10 times. Gently tug on the wires to make sure they are secure. Tap Next.
    • Make sure the copper wire is not exposed.
  12. Connect the hot wire (black) from your floodlight to the hot wire from your junction box. Hold the ends of the wires together, cap using the wire nuts, and twist the wire nut 5-10 times. Gently tug on the wires to make sure they are secure. Tap Next.
    • Make sure the copper wire is not exposed.
  13. Gently put the wires back into the junction box. Tap Next.
    • Caution: To prevent accidental damage to the wires, make sure the wires are not stuck between the bracket and the base of the floodlight.
  14. Screw your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro to the mounting bracket using the floodlight screw then place the rubber stopper over the floodlight screw to protect it. Tap Next.
  15. Adjust the position/angle of the camera and lights for the best coverage.
  16. You’re ready to set up your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro! At your electrical panel, turn on the power to your floodlight’s junction box from the breaker box. Once your floodlight’s status light changes from solid red to flashing purple, tap Begin Setup.
