How do Automations work with Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro?
Automations help control your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro, making it easier to turn it on/off with a single tap in the app, have it turn on/off at a scheduled time or when triggered by another device.
- Shortcuts run actions with a tap in the Wyze app.
- Schedules control devices based on the time of day.
- Device & Service Triggers connect multiple Wyze devices so one can trigger another.
- Location Triggers control devices based on your location.
An example Shortcut with the Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
To create a shortcut to turn on your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro and upload a video to the cloud with a single tap from the Home screen.
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
- On the Add menu, tap Automation > Shortcut.
- Add a name for the shortcut in the text box under the star icon.
- Try "Floodlight video and light."
- Tap Add Action.
- Tap on your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro from the list.
- Tap Turn on the floodlight and Upload a short video to the cloud. Tap Save.
- When finished, tap Save.
Your shortcut will display at the top of the Automations tab. To add it to the Favorites tab, tap the star icon on the shortcut.
Note: If you do not have a Cam Plus subscription, the recording will show as a thumbnail image rather than a video. You can learn more about Cam Plus here.
An example Schedule with the Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
To create a schedule so that when you're at work (9-5 baby!), motion detection turns on for your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro and Wyze Video Doorbell.
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
- On the Add menu, tap Automation > Schedule.
- Tap Name (Optional).
- Enter a name for the schedule. Try "At work."
- Tap Save.
- Tap Add Action, then your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
- Select Turn on motion detection, then Save.
- Tap Add Action, then your Wyze Video Doorbell.
- Select Turn on motion detection, then Save.
- Tap Start Time.
- Select 9:00 AM, then Save.
- Tap End Time.
- Select 5:00 PM, then Save.
- Tap the days you want this automation active for. By default, it'll be active every day.
- When finished, tap Save.
An example Device Trigger with Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
To create a device trigger that turns on your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro when your Wyze Lamp Socket turns on. This can come in handy if you want all lights outside to turn on.
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
- On the Add menu, tap Automation > Device & Service Trigger.
- Tap Name (Optional).
- Enter a name for the trigger. Try "Turn on outdoor lights."
- Tap Save.
- Tap Device & Service Trigger.
- Select your Wyze Lamp Socket.
- Tap Turns on, then Save.
- Tap Add Action.
- Select your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
- Tap Turn on, then Save.
- When done, tap Save.
An example Location Trigger with Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro
To create a location trigger to turn on Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro when you arrive home.
- In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
- On the Add menu, tap Automation > Location Trigger.
- Tap Name (Optional).
- Enter a name for the trigger. Try "Turn on when I arrive"
- Tap Save.
- Tap I arrive.
- Confirm the location displayed in the list.
- Tap Add Action.
- Select your Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
- Tap Turn on the floodlight, then Save.
- Optionally, tap to add a Time that this trigger is active.
- When done, tap Save.
