My Wyze Battery Cam Pro won’t charge.

Problem

You’ve tried charging your Wyze Removable Battery Pack that comes with Wyze Battery Cam Pro, but it won’t charge.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that you’re charging the battery correctly.
    • If charging outside of the camera:
      1. Ensure that you’re charging the battery using the USB-C cable that was included with the camera and that it is inserted securely.
      2. Make sure you’re using a 5V 2A power adapter.
    • If charging inside of the camera:
      1. Ensure that you’re charging the battery using the USB-C cable that was included with the camera and that it is inserted securely.
      2. Make sure you’re using a 5V 2A power adapter.
      3. Ensure the battery pack was inserted correctly into the camera.
        1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera, locate the arrow on the battery pack and point it down into the compartment, then push the battery in until it clicks.
    • If charging using Wyze Battery Charging Dock:
      1. Ensure that you’re charging the battery using the USB-C cable that was included with the charging dock and that it is inserted securely.
      2. Make sure you’re using the 5V 2A power adapter that was included with the charging dock.
      3. Ensure the battery pack is inserted correctly and securely into the charging dock.
    • If charging using Wyze Solar Panel:
      1. Verify that you're using the correct USB-C adapter cable for connecting Wyze Battery Cam Pro to Wyze Solar Panel and that it is inserted securely.
  2. If possible, try charging using an alternate power cable and/or power adapter.
  3. If possible, try using an alternate battery.
  4. Ensure the status lights reflect the device is charging.
    • On the camera, the status light will be flashing green.
    • On the battery, there will be one solid green light.
  5. If already set up successfully, ensure that Wyze Battery Cam Pro’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
  6. Power cycle Wyze Battery Cam Pro.
    1. Remove the battery pack completely for 10 seconds, then place it back into the camera, ensuring it is seated firmly.
  7. Factory reset Wyze Battery Cam Pro.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the camera.
    2. With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light turns solid yellow.
      • To access the setup button, you will need to open the camera's battery compartment.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing yellow and blue, set up the camera like new.
Note: It usually takes about 9 hours to fully charge the battery from 0 to 100%.
