Wyze Sprinkler Controller Connectivity Troubleshooting

Problem

Your Wyze Sprinkler Controller is showing offline in the Wyze app, loads slowly, or disconnects frequently. 

Troubleshooting:

    1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.

      1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.

      2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.

      3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.

      4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.

    2. Check that your Wyze Sprinkler Controller's firmware is up to date.

      1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.

      2. If there is an update available for the controller, please move forward with updating it.

    3. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.

      1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.

      2. For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.

    4. Ensure the controller’s power cable is properly connected.

    5. Ensure Wyze Sprinkler Controller has a good signal strength.

      1. You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the controller’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.

      2. If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the controller closer to the router.

    6. If you are using a mesh Wi-Fi router, we recommend renaming the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) of the closest access point to something unique so the controller doesn't swap between access points.

      1. Note: If you rename or change the access point, you will need to set up the controller as new to that uniquely named Wi-Fi access point.

    7. Power cycle your Wyze Sprinkler Controller.

      1. Unplug the power adapter, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

    8. Factory reset Wyze Sprinkler Controller.

      1. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the controller for 10 seconds until the lights start flashing yellow.

      2. Set up Wyze Sprinkler Controller like new.

      3. Note: If you have an active subscription to Sprinkler Plus, you will need to reassign the license in the Wyze app. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Services > Sprinkler Plus.
