Problem
Your Wyze Window Cam shows offline in the Wyze app, loads slowly, or disconnects frequently.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed under our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
-
If possible, check that Wyze Window Cam’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for either device, please move forward with updating them.
-
Confirm whether the status light is on.
- Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
- Ensure Camera Status Light is toggled on.
- If enabled, but still not showing on the camera, refer to My Wyze Window Cam is not turning on.
-
Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in the phone/tablet settings.
- Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
- For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
-
Confirm that the Wi-Fi network that the camera is connected to is functioning normally.
- Wyze Window Cam is only compatible with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
- Switch between using the Wi-Fi connection and cellular/mobile data to determine if there is an issue with the Wi-Fi.
- Force close and reopen the Wyze app.
-
Ensure Wyze Window Cam has a good signal strength.
- You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the camera’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the camera closer to the router.
-
Adjust the live stream resolution to a lower resolution.
- Higher resolution requires more bandwidth and is more likely to cause slower connectivity.
- Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
-
Power cycle Wyze Window Cam.
- Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in.
-
Factory reset the camera and then set it up as new.
- Remove any microSD card that is inserted into the camera.
- With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
