Why are you recalling the product?
The Wyze Solar Cam Pan security cameras' incorrect assembly instructions can lead consumers to accidentally puncture the lithium-ion battery's metal casing, causing the battery to rapidly overhead, posing a risk of serious injury or property damage from a fire and burn hazard.
Which product is affected?
The recall applies to Solar Cam Pan security cameras purchased on or before April 3, 2026, where the solar panel was attached to the top of the camera using the incorrect long flat-head wood screws instead of the short pan-head machine screws.
Will there be a refund?
The firm is offering consumers who participate in the recall a free replacement camera with solar panel accessory, a full refund or a gift card for the original purchase price to use on the firm’s website. Please allow a two-three week turn around for all payment options.
Refunds are as follows:
- For consumers who purchased the camera through the Wyze website: we will refund you at the original payment method.
- For consumers who bought through a retailer: they will reimburse you via check.
- Gift card is available for all if they choose.
How do I participate in the recall?
Once a consumer has clicked HERE to begin the recall process the following things will occur.
- A form will be filled out to provide the information needed to verify and process the recall.
- A specialized firmware will be sent to the participant to deplete the camera battery.
- The recalled camera will be disabled and no longer function, even if the correct screws were used to attach the solar panel to the camera.
- Participants will be required to dispose of the camera in accordance with local and state regulations.
- The participant will have their choice of a full refund, store credit, or a Battery Cam Pro with solar panel attachment as a replacement.
In some circumstances, Wyze will work with a participant to send a professional deinstaller to remove the camera at no charge

My Solar Cam Pan appears to be operating okay, can I continue to use it?
First, please check the step to step guide to determine if the screws that were properly installed. Wyze Solar Cam Pan can continue to be used safely when installed correctly. If your solar panel was installed separately from the camera, or if the short pan-head machine screws were used to attach the solar panel to the camera, no action is needed.
If the long flat-head wood screws were used to attach the solar panel bracket to the top of the camera body, you should participate in the recall.
I have a Solar Cam Pan security camera. What should I do right now?
• If your camera has not been assembled yet, do not continue setup until you have reviewed the corrected installation instructions found HERE.
• If your solar panel is installed separately from the camera, no action is needed.
• If your solar panel is mounted on top of the camera using the correct short pan-head machine screws, no action is needed.
• If you used the long flat-head wood screws to attach the solar panel to the top of the camera, you should stop using the product and participate in the recall by clicking HERE.

Which screws should be used to attach the solar panel to the top of the camera?
Use only the short pan-head machine screws to attach the solar panel to the top of the camera.
Do not use the long flat-head wood screws to attach the solar panel to the top of the camera. Those are only used to attach to a wall or other surface.

How do I dispose of my camera?
Consumers will be required to attest to disposal of the recalled camera when they register for the recall. Consumers should only dispose of the camera in accordance with local and state regulations.
Note: Do not throw this recalled camera with lithium-ion battery in the trash, the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores. Recalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire. Your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center may accept this recalled lithium-ion battery or device for disposal. Before taking your battery or device to a HHW collection center, contact that office ahead of time and ask whether it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries. If it does not, contact your municipality for further guidance.

My camera is offline or disconnected. What should I do?
If your camera is offline or disconnected and you are unsure which screws were used, contact Wyze at recall@wyze.com or call Wyze toll free at 888-832-7226 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday before removing or disassembling the camera. Wyze Support will provide further guidance. In some situations, professional assistance may be recommended.
In the Wyze app:
- Open the Wyze app.
- Select your Wyze Solar Cam Pan.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Device Info.
- Find the MAC address.
Can I still install my camera?
Yes, if you follow the corrected installation instructions at XXXX.
I already installed my camera correctly, but I need to reconnect it to Wi-Fi. What should I do?
Open the Wyze app and follow the normal Add a New Device flow.
No physical changes are needed if the camera was already installed correctly.
