You can also retrieve the Tim- Lapse directly from the microSD card by removing the card from the camera and reading it with another device, such as a phone, tablet, and/or computer.
Notes about Downloading Time Lapses
- You do not need to be on the same network as the camera to download a Time-Lapse video.
- While downloading a Time-Lapse, your camera will stay awake, causing the battery to drain faster than usual.
- The Wyze app must remain open while downloading a Time-Lapse video. Do not hide or close the app until the download is complete.
Additional Notes:
- A Time-Lapse can be captured simultaneously with Scheduled Recording. Using these features together will deplete the camera's battery more quickly.
- If your Time-Lapse is of a slow-moving event, like a flower blooming, set the interval to be a minute or longer. If your Time-Lapse is of a fast-moving event, like clouds shifting, set the interval to two (2) seconds.

Battery Life and Charging
In addition to being powered through the Micro USB port, Wyze Cam Outdoor has an internal battery that allows it to work without being plugged in.
Note: If you're experiencing poor battery life, check out Troubleshoot Wyze Cam Outdoor battery life issues.
Specifications
- Power Adapter Input: 110-240V AC
- Battery Specs: 7.4V Rechargeable - 2600mAH
- Battery Life: Up to 3-6 months
- Included charger rated for 5V 2A
- Charging from 0%-100% takes ~4 hours
Remaining and Low Battery
The remaining battery life will be displayed as a percentage on the Home screen. It updates in real-time so you can always know how much battery the camera has left.
When the battery drops below 20%, a Low Battery push notification will be sent to your Wyze app. You will still be able to view the live stream, and the camera will continue recording to the microSD card if you have one inserted.
When the battery drops below 20% and 10%, a push notification will be sent that says, "Low Battery. Unable to live stream." At this point, you can still access the camera's live stream page within the app.
Before the battery is fully drained, any progress in the local recording will be saved to the microSD card to prevent it from being cut off abruptly. The same will happen if manually recording on the camera from within the Wyze app. This should help to prevent any active recordings from being corrupted when the battery dies.
Charging the camera
To charge your camera, use the included power cable to connect it to the Base Station (which is plugged into power). While charging, your Wyze Cam Outdoor will display Charging as its status on the Live Stream in the Wyze app along with its battery level (%). The camera's LED will light up to indicate that it's charging.
Charging: Flashing Red Light | Fully Charged: Solid Red Light
Charging can be done with the camera either on or off, and can even be used normally while plugged in. But you should never leave your Wyze Cam Outdoor plugged into power while it's outside. Bring it indoors first. Learn more here.
Note: The USB port on the back of the Base Station is only for charging Wyze Cam Outdoor. It is not intended to be used to charge other devices.
Tips for Better Battery Life
With normal use (10 12-second recordings a day), Wyze Cam Outdoor's rechargeable battery can last up to 3-6 months between each charge. With continuous use or scheduled recording, the battery can last up to 8-10 hours.
Tips for better battery life:
- View the Live Stream only as needed.
- Use Scheduled Recording sparingly.
- Use Time Lapse sparingly.
- Place the camera in a low traffic area if Motion Detection is enabled.
- Charge the camera with the Base Station only.

You may hear a clicking sound when Night Vision is turned on or off. This is the sound of the infrared light filter moving into place within the camera.
Can I turn the IR lights on/off?
Yes, you can toggle the IR lights on and off when using Night Vision. This can help if you have your Wyze Cam Outdoor pointed at a window but you're seeing an IR glare.

- Tap the Settings gear on the top right.
- Tap Advanced Settings, then tap the toggle next to Night Vision IR Lights.

- If the camera range seems poor with the IR lights off, we recommend using a motion-activated floodlight or an IR Blaster.
Motion Tagging
Motion Tagging adds a green box around objects in motion. This helps when scanning through a lot of footage to see if and where motion happened. It comes in handy if you have Scheduled Recording turned on.
To turn on Motion Tagging:

- Motion Tagging sensitivity is fixed, and predefined. This means that it is not affected by changes to your Detection Settings.
