My existing chime won’t ring.

Problem

When I press the button on my Wyze Video Doorbell v2, my chime doesn’t ring.

Troubleshooting

  1. Verify the chime was properly ringing before Wyze Video Doorbell v2 was installed. 
  2. Check that Wyze Doorbell Chime Controller was installed properly by following the steps in Wyze Doorbell Chime Controller Installation Guide.
  3. Confirm the doorbell has been powered for at least 20-30 minutes.
    • This ensures the doorbell has the proper amount of power to operate. 
  4. Ensure you have selected the proper chime type.
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Doorbell Chime Type.
  5. Verify Do Not Disturb is toggled off.
    1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Doorbell Chime Type.
    2. Make sure Do Not Disturb is toggled off.
  6. If the chime still isn’t ringing:
    • For Mechanical Chime Types:
      1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Doorbell Chime Type > Digital.
      2. Tap on Ring Tone Length, then set the duration to 2s - 3s.
    • For Digital Chime Types: 
      1. Navigate to the doorbell’s settings > Doorbell Chime Type.
      2. Tap on Ring Tone Length, then set the duration to 9s.
  7. Check your chime box.
    • If your chime box has more than two terminals, move the white wire to the front terminal. If the white wire is already on the front terminal, move it to the rear terminal.
    • If your chime box only has two terminals, please reach out to our support team with the chime model as well as pictures of the chime box wiring both before and after installing the chime controller.
