The lights aren't turning on when Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 detects motion.

Problem

The lights on your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 are not turning on when motion is detected.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo. 
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the floodlight, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
    1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
    2. For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
  4. Verify that the Detection Settings are set correctly.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Detection Settings.
    2. Under Camera Sensitivity, adjust the slider bar to High.
    3. Tap Detection Zone and toggle it off while testing.
    4. Under PIR Settings, adjust the slider bar to Far and ensure all 3 PIR sectors are turned on. 
  5. Ensure the Floodlight Settings are set correctly.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight's settings > Floodlight Settings.
    2. Under Brightness Level, adjust the slider bar to High.
    3. Under Activate When, tap Motion.
      1. Confirm Motion is toggled on.
      2. Select High Sensitivity while testing.
      3. Tap Lights Off Timer and set it to 5 mins while testing then tap Save.
      4. Tap Schedule and verify it is set to your preferred timeframe.
        1. Set a different schedule to clear any stuck settings then set it back to the preferred timeframe.
        2. Test the motion-activated lights during the set timeframe.
  6. Verify that there are no Rules set up that could be causing interference. 
    1. Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap the pencil icon in the upper-right corner > Edit Rules.
    2. Note: We recommend deleting any Rules and then adding them back one by one while testing.
  7. Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Switch the breaker to the off position.
    2. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. Switch the breaker back to the on position.
  8. Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
    2. With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the side of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the floodlight like new.
