My Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 has poor image quality at night.

Problem

Your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2’s live stream, Events, or Playback has poor image quality at night. The image shows a bloom on the side of the camera view at night when IR night vision is on.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the floodlight, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Request a screenshot of the image, if possible.
  4. Ensure there is nothing impairing the camera’s lens.
    • Remove any plastic film or cover on the lens.
    • Gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
    • If there is a third-party cover on the device, please remove it.
  5. Verify that there are no additional light sources next to or pointing toward the camera lens that may cause interference.
  6. Adjust the camera resolution.
    1. From the floodlight’s live stream, tap the resolution icon to toggle between the modes.
    2. Note: We recommend setting it to 2K resolution.
  7. Cycle through Night Vision Mode.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight’s setting > Advanced Settings.
    2. Cycle through Auto, On, and Off.
    3. Note: We recommend setting it to Auto.
  8. Restart the floodlight.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
  9. Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Switch the breaker to the off position. 
    2. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. Switch the breaker back to the on position.
  10. Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
    2. With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the side of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the floodlight like new.
