Problem
Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 is not turning off or it always stays on during the night.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
- Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the floodlight, please move forward with updating it.
- Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
- Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
- For iOS users, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
- From the floodlight’s Live stream, tap the floodlight icon to turn it off.
- Verify that the Floodlight Settings are set correctly.
- Navigate to the floodlight’s settings > Floodlight Settings.
- Under Activate When, tap Motion.
- Change to Low Sensitivity
- Tap Lights Off Timer and set it to 15s while testing then tap Save.
- Tap Schedule and verify it is set to your preferred timeframe.
- Set a different schedule to clear any stuck settings then set it back to the preferred timeframe.
- Test the floodlight during the set timeframe.
- Under Ambient Light Settings, tap on Ambient Light.
- Toggle it off while testing.
- If you want to keep it enabled, verify the Brightness Level is set to High and check the Ambient Light Schedule.
- Test the floodlight during the set timeframe.
- Set a different schedule to clear any stuck settings then set it back to the preferred timeframe.
- Note: Having Ambient Light enabled will keep the floodlight’s lights turned on during the scheduled time.
- If you want to keep it enabled, verify the Brightness Level is set to High and check the Ambient Light Schedule.
- Toggle it off while testing.
- Verify that the Detection Settings are set correctly.
- Navigate to the Floodlight Settings > Detection Settings.
- Under PIR Settings, adjust the slider to Near.
- Turn off the two side PIR sectors and turn on the middle PIR sector.
- Ensure that Wyze Cam Floodlight v2 has a good signal strength.
- You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the floodlight’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has less than 2 bars, try moving the router closer to the floodlight.

Verify that there are no Automations set up that could be causing interference.

Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap Automations.

Note: We recommend deleting any Automations and then adding them back one by one while testing.

- Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
- Switch the breaker to the off position.
- Wait 5-10 seconds.
- Switch the breaker back to the on position.
- Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
- Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
- With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the side of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
- Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the floodlight like new.
