MicroSD Card Troubleshooting

Problem

You cannot view microSD card recordings, cannot record to the microSD card, or the camera cannot detect the microSD card.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam Floodlight v2’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the floodlight, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Ensure that the microSD card is properly inserted into the device.
    1. Remove the microSD card and then reinsert it into the camera.
    2. Wait for about 5 seconds until you hear a "ding ding" sound. If no sound is heard, try reinserting the microSD card or, if possible, insert a different microSD card into the camera.
  4. Ensure that the selected playback time is correct.
    1. In the Wyze app, navigate to the floodlight’s live stream > SD Card.
    2. Under GO LIVE, select the date that you would like to view footage from.
  5. Ensure that the microSD card usage settings are correct.
    1. Navigate to the floodlight's settings > Advanced Settings.
      • For Wyze Beta app users, go to your Wyze Cam Settings > MicroSD Card.

    2. Enable Record to MicroSD Card and select Continuous.
  6. Format the microSD card.
    1. To format the microSD card through the Wyze app:
      1. Tap Manage MicroSD card > Format.
      2. Wait for about 30 minutes to check if there is any footage.
    2. To format the microSD card through a computer, follow the steps in How to Format your microSD card.
  7. Power cycle Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Switch the breaker to the off position.
    2. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    3. Switch the breaker back to the on position.
  8. Factory reset Wyze Cam Floodlight v2.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted into the floodlight.
    2. With the floodlight powered on, press and hold the setup button on the side of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the floodlight like new.
