Wyze Cam v4 MicroSD Card Troubleshooting

Problem

I'm unable to record to the microSD card or view recordings on the microSD card.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Cam v4’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the camera, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Verify that the microSD card is properly inserted into the device.
    1. Remove the microSD card and then reinsert it into the camera.
    2. Wait for about 5 seconds until you hear a “ding ding” sound. If no sound is heard, reinsert the card until you feel a click, or use a different card if possible.
  4. Ensure that the camera is set to record to the microSD card.
    1. Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
      • For Wyze Beta app users, go to your Wyze Cam Settings > MicroSD Card.

    2. Enable Record to MicroSD Card then select Continuous while testing.
  5. Verify that the selected playback time is correct.
    1. In the Wyze app, navigate to the camera’s live stream > SD Card.
    2. Under GO LIVE, select the date you would like to view footage from.
  6. Format the microSD card.
    1. To format the microSD card through the Wyze app:
      1. Navigate to the camera’s settings > Advanced Settings.
        1. For Wyze Beta app users, go to your Wyze Cam Settings > MicroSD Card.

      2. Tap Manage MicroSD Card > Format.
      3. Wait for about 30 minutes to check if there is any footage.
    2. To format the microSD card through a computer, follow the steps in How to Format your microSD card.
  7. Power cycle Wyze Cam v4 by unplugging it from its power source for 5 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  8. Factory reset Wyze Cam v4 and then set it up as new.
    1. Remove any microSD card inserted in the camera.
    2. With the camera plugged into power, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid red.
    3. Once the status light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new.
