My Wyze Lock will not Auto-Unlock.

Problem

When you enter the geofence range and are close to the lock, your Wyze Lock does not Auto-Unlock.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, update the Wyze app in your app store.
  2. If possible, check that your Wyze Lock’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the lock, please move forward with updating it.
    3. Note: You must be connected to BluetoothⓇ for the firmware to update.
  3. Ensure Bluetooth has been enabled on your phone/tablet.
  4. Close other apps that may be running and remove any unused Bluetooth devices on your phone/tablet.
  5. Verify that Location Permissions are enabled for the Wyze app in your phone/tablet settings.
    1. Make sure that it is set to Always or While Using the App.
    2. If you're on iOS, make sure that Precise Location is turned on.
  6. Make sure you've created a location-based trigger.
    1. In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.

    2. On the Add menu, tap Automation > Location Trigger.

    3. Select either I arrive or I leave.
    4. Tap on The Location and ensure it’s the correct address.
      • Note: Sometimes, entering the address is less accurate than moving the pin to the correct location.
    5. You can adjust the geofence as low as 500 ft or as high as 2.0 mi.
    6. Tap Add Action > Wyze Lock > Unlock > tap Save.
    7. If you'd like to have this Automation only trigger during a certain time or on specific days, toggle Time on then select your start and end times and the days of the week you'd like this Automation to be active.
    8. Tap Save.
  7. Ensure Wyze Lock has a good signal strength.
    1. You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the lock’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
    2. If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the router closer to the lock.
  8. Ensure you’re exiting the geofence, waiting at least 5 minutes, and then re-entering.
    • Note: If you exit and re-enter too soon (5 minutes or less), the lock will consider it a “false trigger”.
  9. Make sure Wyze Lock’s page in the Wyze app is closed, but that the Wyze app itself is still open or running in the background of the phone.
