Problem
Your Wyze Car is unable to be setup.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that both the Wyze app and the Wyze Car app are up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- In the Wyze Car app, tap the profile icon in the upper left-hand corner, then tap App information. The current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze Car logo.
- Compare your app versions to the latest app versions listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that either of your apps is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update them.
- Verify that Wyze Cam v2 was fully set up and functioning normally in the regular Wyze app before trying to turn it into a Car Cam.
- Check that the power bank is securely connected to Wyze Car and the camera.
- Ensure the selected camera is compatible with Wyze Car.
- Only Wyze Cam v2 can be turned into a Car Cam.
- Power cycle Wyze Car.
- Unplug the power bank from the car and camera, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Factory reset Wyze Cam v2.
- Remove any microSD card inserted into the camera.
- With the camera plugged into power, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10 seconds until the status light on the front of the camera turns solid yellow.
- Once the status light starts flashing yellow, set up the camera as new.
- Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
Note: We recommend setting up your Wyze Cam v2 in the regular Wyze app before turning it into a Car Cam.
