My Wyze Mesh Router’s backhaul is incorrect.

Problem

The backhaul for your Wyze Mesh Router or Wyze Mesh Router Pro is only showing as wireless even though it is wired or is showing incorrectly.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed here on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Check that your Wyze Mesh Router’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the router, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Power cycle the impacted Wyze Mesh Router.
    • Unplug the device for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then plug it back in.
  4. Check the backhaul type.
    1. In the Wyze app, select the impacted satellite Wyze Mesh Router.
      • Note: This option is only available on satellite routers, not the primary root router.
    2. Under Connection, find the Backhaul option.
      • If the Backhaul option says Wired, the backhaul is wired.
      • If the Backhaul option says Wireless and has an RSSI value, the backhaul is wireless.

If the Backhaul option says Wireless but does not have an RSSI value, the backhaul is actually wired. If this is the case, don’t worry! Our team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. Keep an eye out for updates here.
