Firmware failed to update

If a firmware update fails, the first thing you can try is to power cycle the camera to make sure that it's not the initialization of the firmware that failed. When the camera comes back online, check out the firmware version. To do this, go to the Account tab and tap Firmware Update. From here, you will be able to see if you have the newest version.

 

If it is not the latest version, try to update the firmware for the individual device or use the bulk upgrade option at the top. If the upgrade continues to fail, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Confirm that your Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
  2. Power cycle the camera by unplugging it from its power source for 5 seconds and then plugging it back in.
  3. If you have a microSD card in your camera, remove it and attempt updating it again.
  4. If this fails again, or you don't have a microSD card, try moving your camera closer to the router for the update.
  5. Reboot the router.
  6. Factory reset the camera.
    1. For Cam v1, Cam v2, Cam Pan: Remove the SD card if there is one inserted. Hold down the setup button until the status light turns solid yellow. Once the status light begins flashing yellow, attempt setup again.

    2. For Wyze Cam v3, Cam v3 Pro, Cam v4, Cam Pan v2, Cam Pan v3: Remove the SD card if there is one inserted. Hold down the setup button until the status light turns solid red. Once the status light begins flashing red, attempt setup again.
