My Wyze Palm Lock’s battery is draining quickly.

Problem

Your Wyze Palm Lock’s main battery is draining quicker than expected.  

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
    1. In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
    2. Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
    3. Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
    4. If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
  2. If possible, check that Wyze Palm Lock’s firmware is up to date.
    1. You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
    2. If there is an update available for the lock, please move forward with updating it.
  3. Ensure the main battery is being charged correctly.
    • The main battery cannot be charged while inserted into Wyze Palm Lock.
    • If charging using a power cable and adapter (both sold separately):
      1. Verify that the power cable being used is a USB-C cable.
      2. Ensure that the power adapter being used is a 5V2A power adapter.
      3. Make sure both the cable and adapter are securely connected.
    • If charging using Wyze Battery Charging Dock (sold separately):
      1. Verify that the power cable being used is the USB-C cable that was included with the charging dock and that it is inserted securely.
      2. Ensure that the power adapter being used is the 5V2A power adapter that was included with the charging dock.
      3. Make sure that the battery pack is inserted correctly and securely into the charging dock.
  4. Ensure the main battery is fully charged.
    • It takes about 9 hours to fully charge the main battery from 0-100%.
    • Once fully charged, there will be 2 solid green lights on the main battery.
    • Note: The backup battery can only be charged by the main battery, and only when both are installed in Wyze Palm Lock.
  5. Ensure Wyze Palm Lock has good signal strength.
    1. You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the lock’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
    2. If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the router closer to the lock.
  6. Adjust the Battery Management settings.
    1. In the lock’s settings, tap Battery Management.
    2. Select Battery Saving Mode or Extreme Battery Saving Mode.
      • Battery Saving Mode: The lock will wake up when your hand is 5-10 inches away.
      • Extreme Battery Saving Mode: The lock will only wake up when you tap the display.
  7. If possible, try using an alternate main battery.
  8. Power cycle Wyze Palm Lock.
    1. Remove the main battery pack completely for 10 seconds, then place it back into the lock, ensuring it is seated firmly.
  9. Factory reset Wyze Palm Lock.
    1. Remove the cover on the interior assembly by pressing in and up on the top portion of the interior assembly.
    2. Press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds until the status light begins pulsing red.
    3. Once the status light starts pulsing red, set up the lock as new.

Note: A full charge for the main battery should last up to 6 months with normal use (10-20 lock/unlocks per day), with the Battery Management setting set to Auto.
