Problem
Your Wyze Palm Lock’s main battery is draining quicker than expected.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- If possible, check that Wyze Palm Lock’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the lock, please move forward with updating it.
- Ensure the main battery is being charged correctly.
- The main battery cannot be charged while inserted into Wyze Palm Lock.
- If charging using a power cable and adapter (both sold separately):
- Verify that the power cable being used is a USB-C cable.
- Ensure that the power adapter being used is a 5V2A power adapter.
- Make sure both the cable and adapter are securely connected.
- If charging using Wyze Battery Charging Dock (sold separately):
- Verify that the power cable being used is the USB-C cable that was included with the charging dock and that it is inserted securely.
- Ensure that the power adapter being used is the 5V2A power adapter that was included with the charging dock.
- Make sure that the battery pack is inserted correctly and securely into the charging dock.
- Ensure the main battery is fully charged.
- It takes about 9 hours to fully charge the main battery from 0-100%.
- Once fully charged, there will be 2 solid green lights on the main battery.
- If the battery is not charging, refer to My Wyze Palm Lock won’t charge.
- Note: The backup battery can only be charged by the main battery, and only when both are installed in Wyze Palm Lock.
- Ensure Wyze Palm Lock has good signal strength.
- You can check this in the Wyze app by going to the lock’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has 2 bars or less, try moving the router closer to the lock.
- Adjust the Battery Management settings.
- In the lock’s settings, tap Battery Management.
- Select Battery Saving Mode or Extreme Battery Saving Mode.
- Battery Saving Mode: The lock will wake up when your hand is 5-10 inches away.
- Extreme Battery Saving Mode: The lock will only wake up when you tap the display.
- If possible, try using an alternate main battery.
- Power cycle Wyze Palm Lock.
- Remove the main battery pack completely for 10 seconds, then place it back into the lock, ensuring it is seated firmly.
- Factory reset Wyze Palm Lock.
- Remove the cover on the interior assembly by pressing in and up on the top portion of the interior assembly.
- Press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds until the status light begins pulsing red.
- Once the status light starts pulsing red, set up the lock as new.
Note: A full charge for the main battery should last up to 6 months with normal use (10-20 lock/unlocks per day), with the Battery Management setting set to Auto.
