Troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store and update the Wyze app.
- Check that the camera’s firmware is up to date.
- You can check this by going to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the doorbell, please move forward with updating it.
- Verify whether the event is a motion or sound event.
- Note: Sound events will only record for 12 seconds, even if you have a Wyze Service.
- Confirm which kind of camera is being used.
- Note: For battery-powered Wyze Cams, the recording length is set to 12 seconds by default to save battery life. Longer video events can be recorded by going to the camera's settings > Event Recording > adjust Maximum Video Length.
- Check if any Automations were used.
- Note: When you create an automation to "upload a short video to the cloud" after a trigger, that video will only be 12 seconds long.
- If possible, reset the services for the camera.
- In the Wyze app, navigate to the camera’s settings > Reset Services > Reset.
- If possible, restart the camera.
- In the Wyze app, navigate to the camera’s settings > Restart Camera > Restart.
