Create a Home in the Wyze app

👋 Welcome to the Wyze app! Now that you've downloaded the app and created an account, it's time to set up your first Wyze device. This is when you get to Create a Home, detailed in this article.

To Create a Home in the Wyze app:

  1. After signing in to the Wyze app for the first time, you'll get our welcome message:
  2. Tap Get Started, and you'll start setting up your home by giving it a name. After entering a name, tap Done to close your keyboard, then Next to move forward.
  3. On the next screen, you'll be prompted to add your home address. This is required for location-based Automations, and services like Wyze Home Monitoring. You can Skip this step, and update your settings later, or complete the form and tap Next.
  4. Now it's time to start adding your devices! Tap Add Your First Device...
  5. Enter the name of your device, and select it from the list. Follow along in the Wyze app to add your device!
  6. Once you've added your first device,  you'll be brought to a tutorial to get started in the app. You can Skip this step. But with Wyze app 3.0, there are a lot of new features to explore!

Additional Notes:

  • You can skip the Create a Home step by either tapping the X or Skip on the top of the screen. You'll still be able to add your devices and services even if you skip the tutorials.
  • When naming your home, if you're in Dark Mode on iOS, the Done button to close your keyboard may be difficult to see. This is on our fix list! Switch to Light Mode and the button is more visible.
  • We wrote this guide to start with setting up your first device. You can tap to set up Wyze Home Monitoring instead, and then add your devices afterwards.
