My Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell won’t power on.

Problem

Your Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell won’t power on or doesn’t have a status light.

Troubleshooting

If your Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell is battery-powered:

  1. Make sure the battery pack is fully charged.
    • If the battery pack is charging, there should be one green status light.
    • If the battery pack is fully charged, both status lights should be solid green.
    • If the battery pack is not charging, follow the steps in My Duo Cam Doorbell won’t charge.
  2. Ensure the battery pack was inserted correctly into the doorbell.
    1. Use the doorbell detaching pin to remove the backplate from the doorbell.
    2. Locate the arrow on the battery pack and point it toward the top of the battery compartment.
    3. Insert the battery into the compartment then push it down until it is secure.
  3. If the doorbell was already set up in the Wyze app, confirm that the doorbell’s status light is turned on.
    1. Go to the doorbell’s settings > Advanced Settings > Status Light. Then toggle the lights off and on.
  4. Press and hold the setup button to see if you hear a “ready to connect” voice prompt.
    1. If so, proceed to set up the camera as new.
  5. Factory reset Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell.
    1. Send an app log from your doorbell's settings > Wyze Support > Submit a Log
    2. Remove any microSD card inserted into the doorbell.
    3. Press and hold the RESET button on the back of the doorbell for 5 seconds or until the voice prompt sounds.
      • To access the RESET button, you will need to use the doorbell detaching pin to remove the back plate from the doorbell.
    4. Once the status light is flashing red, set up the doorbell like new.

If your Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell is hardwired:

  1. Check that the doorbell is receiving power from the breaker to operate properly.
    • The doorbell should be receiving 16-24V 10VA.
  2. Power off the doorbell by switching the breaker to the off position.
  3. Check all wiring to make sure it is secure.
  4. Make sure that Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell is installed properly by following the steps in our Wyze Duo Cam Doorbell Installation Guide.
    • If you’re ever unsure when dealing with wiring or power, we recommend reaching out to a licensed electrician at your discretion.
  5. Power on the doorbell by switching the breaker to the on position.
  6. Check that the status light is visible and that you can hear “ready to connect” when pressing the RESET button.
  7. If the doorbell is not powered, install the original doorbell and press it to see if the chime box makes a sound.
    • If the chime box does not make a sound, this means that either the chime box or the transformer is not working. Please reach out to a licensed electrician for further troubleshooting with your chime box or transformer.
