Problem
Your Wyze Bulb turns on unexpectedly.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm your Wyze app is up to date.
- In your Wyze app, navigate to the Account tab > tap About.
- Your current app version will be listed beneath the Wyze logo.
- Compare your app version to the latest app version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page.
- If you find that your Wyze app is out of date, head over to your mobile device’s app store, and update the Wyze app.
- Check that your Wyze Bulb’s firmware is up to date.
- Go to the Account tab > Firmware Update.
- If there is an update available for the bulb, please update.
- Ensure the bulb is securely inserted into the socket.
- Confirm that the light fixture the bulb is installed in is physically turned on.
- If the affected bulb is part of a device group, please remove it from the group.

Tap on Devices from the Home tab of the Wyze app.

Tap on your Device Group > settings > Lights in Group > Edit > Delete the affected bulb.

- Make sure that no shared users are adjusting the bulb.

Verify that there are no Automations set up that could be causing interference.

Navigate to the Home tab of the Wyze app, tap Automations.

Note: We recommend deleting any Automations and then adding them back one by one while testing.

- Ensure there are no automations using third-party apps such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or IFTTT.
- Check your bulb’s signal strength.
- Tap on your Wyze Bulb’s settings > Device Info > Signal Strength.
- If it has less than 3 bars, try moving the bulb closer to the router.
- Factory reset your Wyze Bulb.
- Turn the light switch associated with the bulb off/on 3 times.
- Wait for the bulb to start pulsing slowly.
- Once the bulb starts pulsing, set it up like new.
