Firmware Failed to Upgrade

If a firmware update fails for the Wyze Cam Outdoor, the first thing to try is to power cycle the camera and try again. This will make sure that it's not the initialization of the firmware that failed.

  1. Power cycle the camera.
    1. On the back of the camera, flip the power switch to Off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Flip the switch to On.
  2. Let the Wyze Cam come back online, then check your firmware version again.
    1. In the Wyze app, tap Account > Firmware Update
    2. If it is not the latest version, try to update again.

If the upgrade continues to fail, try these steps:

  1. Power cycle the camera again.
    1. On the back of the camera, flip the power switch to Off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Flip the switch to On.
  2. If you have a microSD card in your camera, remove it and attempt the upgrade again.
  3. If it fails again, or you don't have a microSD card, try moving your camera closer to the Base Station for the update.
